Adventuring Into Knowledge Nature School

Nature builds
what classrooms
can't.

The outdoor education program Kamloops families have trusted for years is now part of something bigger. Same values, same philosophy, more programs than ever.

Our story

You know us.
We're growing.

For years, Sprouting Knowledge has been the place Kamloops families trusted with their kids. Children got muddy, climbed things they probably shouldn't have, and learned what it feels like to be genuinely capable in the world.

That program and those values are not going anywhere. What's different now is the scale around them: three programs instead of one, and a growing team to run them.

Sprouting Knowledge and Adventuring Into Life started from different places, but shared the same belief: people become more confident and capable when they're given real experience, meaningful challenge, supportive community, and enough room to discover what they can do for themselves.

Sprouting Knowledge joined forces with Adventuring Into Life, Kamloops' outdoor adventure company for youth and women, and became Adventuring Into Knowledge Nature School. The philosophy stayed. The ambition got bigger.

We're here for the full range of children who deserve time outside, not just the ones who happen to find us. Rooted in the belief that the wild is where capable kids are made.

The forest has always been the classroom. We're just finally building the school around it.

Our approach

How we teach.

01
Follow curiosity.
Children learn deeply when something actually matters to them.
02
Step back before stepping in.
We give children room to solve problems, assess challenges, and discover what they can do.
03
Return to the same places.
Familiarity creates confidence, observation, and a genuine relationship with the natural world.
04
Care for what teaches us.
Children learn that being outside isn't only about what nature gives us. It's also about how we treat the places we're lucky enough to use.
Our commitment

Built for children,
built to last.

Adventuring Into Knowledge is built on one thing: the belief that kids who spend real time outside become more capable, more confident, and more connected to the world around them. That belief drives every decision we make.

We want children to leave knowing more than how to be outside. We want them to know a place well enough to notice when it changes, feel that they belong there, and understand that caring for it is part of being there.

Nature education has historically been expensive, hard to find, or simply not available. We are working to change that in Kamloops, and eventually beyond it.

Sponsors, donors, and community partners make it possible to keep fees accessible and programs running well. If that interests you, we'd genuinely like to hear from you.
